Global Giving, USA visited CAPEC School

CAPEC was grateful for the visit from two GlobalGiving Foundation Field Representatives: Laurel Chor and Meg Dallett in July 2011. GlobalGiving is a charity fundraising website which gives social entrepreneurs and non-profit organizations anywhere in the world a chance to raise the money that they need in order to improve their communities. CAPEC has benefited from donations from this website since 2009 and still is benefiting. The time came for the organization to visit the project and to find out how the online funding has been beneficial to our organization. Their visit coincided with the School holiday program which was going on. They had the opportunity to see and talk to some children and also conversed with some CAPEC International volunteers. While in Yaoundé, Meg and Laurel also organized a workshop at the British Council Hall for NGOs interested in fundraising online through the GlobalGiving website. The workshop focused on:

• Identification and expansion of the NGO network
• Engaging and maintaining donor relationships through online dialogue
• Creating a one month online campaign
• Joining GlobalGiving
• How to fundraise successfully on this unique platform.
